‘Valencia CF visits your school’ kicks off a new season in Torrent
The Club will visit twelve schools with special attention to the centres affected by the flash floods
IOM helps with migration issues, provides health care and works on international cooperation
Valencia CF defender Mouctar Diakhaby has been appointed as a new Goodwill Ambassador by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). This organization, which is part of the United Nations System, works among other objectives to help with migration problems, offer health assistance to migrants in need and international cooperation on migration.
Diakhaby is a football player tremendously committed to sport and society and therefore, he is a reference for Valencia CF and at international level, specifically in his country Guinea. This commitment is reflected in one of the actions he carried out together with the VCF Academy players, starring in the Workshop against Discrimination and Racism of the Zero Discrimination-VCF World program.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), founded in 1951, is the leading intergovernmental institution in the field of migration and has 175 Member States, 8 States with observer status and offices in 171 countries, including Spain. This organization has appointed nine Goodwill Ambassadors, including Mouctar Diakhaby, to "lend their support to highlight the opportunities that migration presents and how it helps to spread talent around the world."
"From my family experience I can say that migration can be beneficial if you migrate on a regular basis. As a Goodwill Ambassador my desire is to use my cultural heritage and sporting experience to help raise awareness," says Diakhaby.
