Valencia CF picked up where they left off as they came out all guns blazing in the second half. Sergi Canós worked Nyland with an effort from outside the box but the Sevilla FC keeper gobbled it up.
The floodgates open with a flurry of Valencia chances and moments later, Hugo Duro nodded the ball wide following a fine José Luis Gayà delivery. Shortly after, Roman Yaremchuk came close with a powerful effort in a one-on-one situation which took a deflection on Nyland’s shoulder and it went out of play.
Substitute Peter Federico came close to breaking the deadlock on the half-volley but his effort bounced off the turf and fizzed just wide following a corner kick.
Valencia CF kept on pushing for the winning goal in the closing minutes, alas Valencia CF were hard done by as they came away unrewarded and were held to a frustrating goalless draw at Mestalla.
Valencia CF will travel to Andalusia to take on Granada CF on Saturday the 24th of February at 2 pm kick-off time (CET) at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes on Matchday 26 of LaLiga EA Sports.
