Valencia CF made a trip to the Basque Country, San Sebastián to take on Real Sociedad in midweek on Thursday, May 16 at 10 pm at the Reale Arena on Matchday 36 of LaLiga EA for their penultimate away fixture of the season.
Valencia CF thought to have opened the scoring through Roman Yaremchuk who put away his effort inside the top corner after a blistering counterattack getting in behind the Real Sociedad backline in the second minute of the game.
Alas, his goal was wiped off for offside in the buildup and the next minute, it was the opposition who got themselves in front with an instant reply through André Silva.
Real Sociedad dictated play thanks to their early goal while Valencia CF struggled to settle into the game after a shaky start to the game.
Javi Guerra got his shot away from a distance to force Remiro into a reaction save over the quarter-hour mark.
Valencia CF struggled to create inroads halfway through the first half as Valencia CF continued to invite pressure from the opposition down the wings with teasing crosses into the box.
Shortly after, Giorgi Mamardashvili produced a magnificent reaction save to deny Beñat Turrientes by palming the ball away to safety over the half-hour-mark at the Reale Arena.
