Mestalla pays tribute to VCF Inclusivo on its 10th anniversary

The players and coaching staff of the DI team walked onto the pitch in the build-up to Valencia CF-Rayo Vallecano

Memorable moments were experienced by the players and coaching staff of VCF Inclusivo, who stepped onto the Mestalla pitch ahead of Valencia CF-Rayo Vallecano and received a heartfelt applause from the stands.

Valencia CF and the Fundació VCF, which is responsible for managing the DI (Intellectual Disability) team, wanted in this way to pay tribute to the 10 years of existence of VCF Inclusivo (2016-17/2025-26).

An anniversary that, with this event, continues adding milestones, as was the 10th Anniversary Tournament held at Mestalla last March 25th with the participation of 12 teams (local, regional, national and international).

The ‘teammate companies’ that are currently experiencing the exceptional adventure of VCF Inclusivo in every training session, match, tournament and league are: Aquaservice, Supertite, SAV, SP·Berner, Colevisa and Puma.

Precisely, representatives from each of the companies were welcomed in the Juan Sol Room of the VIP Box by Javier Solís, General Director of Valencia CF, Inma Ibáñez, director of the Fundació VCF, and Miguel Tendillo, Club ambassador.

Although the Fundació VCF began working with people with intellectual disabilities in the 2011-12 season, it was in 2016-17 when VCF Inclusivo started operating as such: wearing the VCF crest, training weekly and participating in local, regional, national and international competitions, highlighting the LFI league, the FEDI CV league, the Special Olympics Korea K League 2022, the Genuine World Cup 2024 and 2025 and, of course, LALIGA Genuine, of which VCF Inclusivo has been part since its 1st edition (2017-18).

Likewise, Valencia CF, through the Fundació VCF, ensures that the boys and girls feel fully integrated within the Club, through their participation in You Play Mestalla and the Welcome Academy VCF, meetings with players from the men’s and women’s first teams and deserved tributes at Mestalla in the build-up to matches throughout all these years of black and white life, such as the one on this May 14th, undoubtedly the most special one.
