FCC Construcción begins interior architecture work at Nou Mestalla
This phase, initially planned for late May, has been brought forward by more than a month
Captain José Luis Gayà spoke about the victory against RCD Mallorca and the need to continue picking up points between now and the end of the season.
A difficult victory
We knew it was going to be tough. They had some important players out, and so did we, so that's no excuse for anyone. Today was a tough game because they had a very clear game plan: They press hard, and it's difficult to play against them. But we competed very well, were strong in defence, and were intense, and that's what led us to win today. With the score at 0-0, we had danger and quality up front, and that's how we got the points.
The team's reaction in 2025
It's what we had to do. We needed a lot of points, and to get out of the relegation zone we had to make up for all the points we had missed out on. Now we're 4 points clear, but just like when we were 7 points behind I said I trusted the team and that we were going to give it our all, now we have to keep going. We haven't done anything yet; we have a long way to go, and we have to keep getting points. That's what we're going to do between now and the end of the season.
Mestalla
Mestalla is the key. We are very clear that we have become stronger here, after a very difficult first half of the season. We feel supported, eager to change the situation, and we are very focused on the approach, on each match. The key to this change is that we are more focused on the approach and the game than on other things, and it is one of the keys to the team's improvement.
Diego López's scoring streak
Diego is giving us a lot, and starting from the left, he gets into the box very well, moves very well, and now he's putting everything together. We hope there will be many more goals from him.
