"It's a great experience that you have to have once in your life if you like football"

Some 31 VCF Academy Canada players visited the city of Valencia during March, to enjoy a training experience at the Ciudad Deportiva.

The players, accompanied by various VCF Academy Canada coaches, had the opportunity to improve their football skills with the VCF Academy coaches, both in training sessions and in friendly matches. They also met Valencia CF and VCF Femenino players.

"We came with 31 players who are very excited to be here at Valencia CF's Ciudad Deportiva," Diego Bonato, coach of the VCF Academy Canada, told VCF Media.

“The first thing for us is education for our players. It also opens their eyes. Everyone thinks they can make it to professional football. We always tell them that only 1% of players make it, and here they can see that even players who are at an academy like Valencia CF's have to work very hard to be part of that 1% who make it."

“It's like meeting your heroes, but you realise they're normal people, there are no egos. They play in front of thousands and thousands of people, but they're normal people,”  he continued.

"We've learned a lot from the VCF Academy coaches and are really enjoying ourselves. The coaches are constantly giving us feedback, tips, and advice on how we can improve -both collectively and individually," added Rodrigo Rojas, a VCF Academy Canada player. "It's a great experience that you have to have once in your life if you like football".

Another player, Betina Cavalheiro, explained that “It's been very inspirational because you can see how they train, how they play, and how you can improve."

The VCF Academy Canada is one of several VCF Academies that Valencia CF operate in strategic markets in the Americas, Asia, and Europe, helping to expand the club's brand image.
