The Valencia CF B team will be playing in the third tier again in 2019/20

Valencia CF second team VCF Mestalla capped a successful weekend for the club by achieving their own objective, sealing survival in the Segunda B division for another season.

They did so on the final day of the season, thanks to a 1-1 draw in their game at the Antonio Puchades stadium against RCD Espanyol B. An 81st minute goal from Sekou Gassama cancelled out Nico Melamed's opener for the visitors, and earned the team the point that they needed to remain in Grupo III of the Spanish third tier,

The game was attended by Valencia CF president Anil Murthy, director general Mateu Alemany, sporting director Pablo Longoria and VCF Academy director Luis Martínez, as well as three first team stars and former VCF Mestalla players: Toni Lato, Carlos Soler and Ferran Torres.
