VCF mark International Breast Cancer Awareness day
Monday, October 19th is International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, and Valencia CF marked the day with the help of their three goalkeepers: Jaume Doménech, Jasper Cillessen and Cristian Rivero. The trio wore pink jerseys in the first training session of the week for the first team at the Ciudad Deportiva, with the colour being an emblem of the fight against breast cancer.
The club support the initiative to raise awareness in society of the need to investigate and make timely diagnosis of the condition, which is the most common form of cancer amongst women. According to the Cáncer AECC observatory, some 33,307 new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed last year, with the most common age group affected being those between 45 and 65.
