Great Success of Valencia CF’s First Campus in Argentina
More than 100 players enjoyed the first edition of the campus, organized in collaboration with Club Atlético Pilar of Buenos Aires and Nitidia Sport
VCF Academy Infantil side had a fine run in the XXIX edition of LaLiga Promises having qualified as group leaders and unbeaten in the group stage picking up three wins against Real Sociedad (1-2), Granada CF (3-1) CD Leganés (1-0) and a draw against Sevilla FC (1-1), going through to the quarter-finals after a (2-1) win over Cádiz FC and bowing out to Sevilla FC by (2-0).
Nacho Tarin’s side tried to continue in the same vain shown throughout the tournament against Sevilla FC: dictating the game in possession and being organised at the back and direct going forward.
Sevilla FC were content to sit back and man mark the Valencia CF players. The first half finished scoreless with chances few and far between for either side.
Sevilla FC put themselves in front following a refereeing decision whose call went the oppostition’s way which lead to the opposition’s opening goal.
Valencia CF refused to back down and kept on pushing alas, Sevilla FC scored the second goal in the closing minutes.
Early, on Valencia CF beat Cádiz in the round of 16 in yet another tight game were Valencia CF picked up a 2-1 win through a Jaume Durá brace who dedicated his goal alongside the rest of his teammates to Vela who sustained an injury the day before leaving one of the highlights of the tournament.
VCF Infantil head coach, Nacho Tarín, delivered a post-match pep talk after bowing out to Sevilla FC to lift the spirits of the squad:
“We’ve given it our all, so have a clear conscience and keep on learning, hold your heads high because we’re Valencia CF”.
