VCF Inclusivo begin the latest edition of LaLiga Genuine this weekend in Tarragona. They play on Saturday, November 18th against Athletic Club at 12 pm, and against Sporting Gijón at 6:30 pm. On Sunday, they meet Girona FC at 11 am.
The 16 players chosen for the season opener are: Javier Ela, Enrique Gozalbo, Tomás León, Manuel Morenilla, Josep Espasa, Juan A. Motos, Ignacio Casas, Álvaro Ramírez, Cristian Chiva, Boris Solá, José Mª Mínguez, Mateo Márquez, Borja Martínez, Carlos Valero, Guillermo Verdú and Rebeca García. The four coaches are: Osvaldo Márquez, Francisco Borcha, Julián Vicente and Emiliano Depetris.
The VCF Foundation has been working with the DI team, VCF Inclusivo, since the 2016/17 academic year, facilitating the use of football as a motivational tool for personal development and social interaction. The team are one of the founders of LaLiga Genuine.
Partners involved in supporting the team are Aquaservice, Puma, Supertite, Colevisa, Aliter Soluciones and Grupo Tesela.
The members of VCF Inclusivo took their official team photograph at the Antonio Puchades stadium together with representatives from the partners and the president of Valencia CF, Layhoon Chan, as well as the director of the VCF Foundation, Inma Ibáñez.
In this first phase, 46 LaLiga Genuine teams meet. In total, there will be four phases, at six different venues.
LaLiga Genuine is a football competition developed by LaLiga, through its Foundation, and is a pioneering initiative in promoting the integration of people with intellectual disabilities through football.
LaLiga Genuine is already a consolidated project on the national stage and promotes equality, tolerance and respect through the power of football, but also through socio-labour inclusion programs and support for the training of its members.
Each of the matches played throughout the season represents an opportunity for participants to show their passion for football and demonstrate that, with determination and support, everyone can achieve their dreams.
