VCF Inclusivo receives the support of LALIGA GENUINE
The seventh edition of the tournament kicked off this weekend in Tarragona
The VCF Foundation are approaching the 2019/20 season with a clear objective: To boost the social and charitable responsibility of Valencia CF towards Valencia and the citizens of the region. To do this, they have increased the number of beneficiaries from the Escoles COR Blanquinegre school scheme, and converted the VCF DI team into the new VCF Inclusivo format.
The Escoles COR Blanquinegre scheme was put in place in October of 2015, aimed at teachers of chosen educational and youth centres in underprivileged Valencian neighbourhoods.
Since then, through weekly training sessions with an educational slant, the VCF Foundation have made Valencia CF available to those in charge as a tool for learning, social growth and sporting improvement, serving as an incentive to around 2,250 young people. This season the plan is to work in 50 schools, adding a further 1,000 beneficiaries.
VCF DI, the club run by the VCF Foundation with the purpose of aiding those with intellectual disabilities to play football with each other, has become VCF Inclusivo.
Under the umbrella of the COR Blanquinegre programme, work has been carried out with those with intellectual disabilities since the 2011/12 season, and the club have become one of the participants in LaLiga Genuine. The time has now come to take an additional step forward, to normalise inclusive football: Football, for everyone, by everyone, and amongst everyone.
This means that, whilst persons with intellectual disabilities still form part of the club, there will be certain training sessions and games with, for example, VCF Academy teams. It is a way to boost self esteem and confidence amongst those at the club, as well as transmitting the numerous values of those on the VCF Inclusivo team to the academy players.
The VCF Foundation also has a mission to spread the spirit and heritage of Valencia CF, which is entrusted to the Museum and Heritage department. They do this through various events, such as the Forúm Algirós.
The VCF Foundation Training Centre offers top level educational options for those interested in professional growth, or who want to improve their Curriculum Vitae. The prestigious Valencia CF MBA Master course and online training are standouts of the scheme.
