VCF Femenino vs. Levante UD proceeds to increase youth scholarships
Mestalla hosts a derby between VCF Femenino and Levante UD on Monday, April 22nd at 5pm CET, and a new initiative has been added to the contest to help young players aspiring to reach the highest level.
Proceeds from the match will be used to increase scholarships for the nine VCF Femenino youth teams. Currently, not including the professional players in the senior squad, there are currently 175 girls and young women in the six 11-a-side teams and three 8-a-side outfits.
2019 does not only mark Valencia CF' Centenary, as it is also the 10th anniversary of VCF Femenino's creation. The club was founded through an agreement between the VCF Foundation and the DSV German School in the city. Teams from the latter institution would compete under the Valencia CF name.
They are now in their tenth season in top level competition. Both the first team, who play in LaLiga Iberdrola, and the B Team play and train at the Ciudad Deportiva. VCF Femenino's home games -besides the occasional match at Mestalla- are held at the Antonio Puchades stadium, located within the training facilities, whilst the rest of the women's structure train at the Escuela de Fútbol CF Cracks.
Tickets for the derby are free for VCF Femenino season ticket holders, and €3 for the general public.
