VCF Academy graduate earns Spain under 16 callup

The VCF Academy boasts a new call-up for the Spain youth system. VCF Cadete A goalkeeper, Asier Herrera has been called up to face Russia in a double meeting on the 21st and 23rd of September in Marbella.   

The homegrown goalkeeper has just kicked off his sixth season at the VCF Academy and he plays for VCF Cadete in group I of Liga Autonomica. A few of his fellow teammates were also part of the preliminary list.  

Asier Herrera’s callup joins the list of further VCF players like Jesús Vázquez’s and Javi Guerra for Spain under 19, Yarek Gasiorowski, Hugo de Mateo, Dani Sánchez Carlos Igual’s for Spain under 17, Hugo Guillamón who is a permanent fixture for Spain under 21 and José Luis Gayà and Carlos Soler for Spain senior side, all of them instrumental at their respective levels.
