VCF Academy confirm positive COVID-19 case
The Valencia CF Academy notified on Friday morining a positive COVID-19 case in one of the residence-living players at the Ciudad Deportiva. A Fundacion Infantil player tested positive albeit he is in good health. In accordance with the regional football federation, The Fundación Infantil game againt Levante UD to be played on Saturday has been postponed.
The case has been notified to the health authorities while all of the Academy residents underwent antigen tests which came back negative. Nevertheless, the rest of the residents have been put in self-isolation in their respective homes as the academy deems the residence as a family unit and all the residents are subsequently deemed as close contacts of a positive case.
For that reason, the Valencia CF academy have requested FFCV and RFEF the full suspension of all 11-a-side football teams fixtures at the weekend of those who may have a living resident player in their squads to avoid further possible cases.
The FFCV have agreed to suspend the two coming fixtures for VCF Cadete A, Fundación Cadete, VCF Infantil A, Fundación Infantil y VCF Infantil B.
