Valencia CF honour season ticket holders with over 50 years of seniority in Mestalla centenary month
Valencia CF to honour their members with more than 50 years of seniority this May. Coinciding with the centenary month of Mestalla, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the Club have brought back one of the most heartfelt events in the calendar, the recognition of members who have been season ticket holders for more than 50 years on an ongoing basis.
Last Thursday 18 May, the first of two events took place - the members honoured have been divided into two groups and the second event will take place in the coming days -, in which the first group of members with more than 50 years of seniority and who have accompanied the team unconditionally over the decades experienced an afternoon full of emotions.
The four ambassadors Ricardo Arias, Miguel Tendillo, Miguel Ángel Bossio and Vicente Rodríguez were in charge of presenting the badges to the members together with president Layhoon Chan, who gave some heartfelt words of thanks in Spanish to the members for their unwavering loyalty over the years.
"Good evening to everyone and welcome to your home which turns 100 years old this week", began the president -who was the driving force behind this recognition in its first stage- before the members and their families and loved ones, who were able to experience the event from the main stand.
"I thank you for being here today with your loved ones and I would like to remember all those who were unable to come today. I am very happy to bring back this emotional act to recognise your loyalty and unconditional love for Valencia for more than fifty years. Thank you for passing on your Valencianismo from generation to generation. You are Valencia CF's greatest heritage. I hope you enjoy this event to recognise your sentiment valencianista," added the Valencia CF president.
The event was also attended by the president of the Valencia CF Footballers' Association, Fernando Giner, and several illustrious former players in our history, such as Forment, Adorno, Guillot and Felman.
