Thursday training features Maxi Gómez
The Valencia CF squad continued their preseason training schedule on Thursday with another day of workouts, with new signing Maxi Gómez participating for the first time. The Uruguayan took part in the morning session in the gym at the Ciudad Deportiva, before going out onto the pitch with the rest of the group in the afternoon.
Gómez was guided by some of the club's South American players in particular, as Ezequiel Garay and Gabriel Paulista accompanied him during the initial stages of the sessions.
In the various drills, the 22-year-old showed his scoring instinct and finishing ability, as well as having his fitness put to the test.
The afternoon session featured almost all of the first team, with the exception of Carlos Soler, Ferran Torres and Uros Racic, who will join up with the squad shortly.
Marcelino was absent on Thursday, as he had gone to Singapore for a meeting with Valencia CF majority shareholder Peter Lim, alongside president Anil Murthy and director general Mateu Alemany. The coach will be back in charge of his players on Saturday, for the preseason training camp in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
