Ferran Torres has been a sensation for the Valencia CF first team in the space of just over a year, and he continues to learn with his customary humility.
The 18 year old is in contention to play against Villarreal CF in the derby this weekend. He has featured three times already against The Yellow Submarine in LaLiga, but his standout performance against VCF's regional rivals came at youth level.
It was in March 2017, away from home, that Torres ran the game against Villarreal's youth team. He covered capably in defence, and provided an assist for Fran Navarro to give his team a 0-1 lead. He was singled out for special praise by future Villarreal first team coach Javi Calleja after his great showing.
Torres' goal against Vigo last week made him him the third youngest Valencia CF player to score in LaLiga, behind only after Mena and Fernando Gómez. Now his task is to beat Villarreal for the first time at senior level.
