Three VCF players in Spain starting XI for first time in 10 years
For the first time in almost 10 years, Valencia CF had three representatives in the starting lineup for Spain this past Sunday. It was in 'La Roja's game against the Faroe Islands, which they won 4-0 with two goals from Rodrigo Moreno.
Rodrigo, Dani Parejo and José Luis Gaya were the first VCF trio in a first eleven for their country in 142 games. They helped Spain to another three points in their Euro 2020 qualifying group.

David Silva, David Villa and Carlos Marchena were the previous three players to start for Spain, on November 18th, 2009. Vicente Del Bosque picked them for a friendly in Vienna against Austria, and two Valencia CF stars were on the scoresheet: Villa finding the net twice, and second half substitute Pablo Hernández also getting a goal in the 1-5 win.

Since then, a maximum of two VCF players have started together, including the likes of Juan Mata, Jordi Alba and Roberto Soldado.
