The Benito Villamarín, Valencia CF’s happy hunting ground
This coming Sunday, at 9 pm, Valencia CF will return to the Benito Villamarín to play the eighth matchday of LaLiga EA Sports 2023-24. A happy hunting ground for Valencia Club de Fútbol, on one of those magical nights, were crowned winners of the 2019 Copa del Rey.
A special night
25 May 2019 will always be remembered as the day on which Valencia CF lifted a trophy once again, 11 years later and, moreover, in the centenary year. A rounded afternoon/evening. Valencia CF arrived in Seville with the excitement and ambition of being able to give the fans a much deserved trophy.
The team were in the final after a long and difficult journey, with magical nights such as the comeback at the Camp de Mestalla against Getafe or the semi-finals, at the Benito Villamarín itself, against Real Betis.

Who doesn't remember the play that Paulista started, Gayà continued and Gameiro finished in the back of the net, or Carlos Soler's gallop down the right flank and that finish with Rodrigo Moreno's face. That euphoria, those goals and that celebration that will remain forever in our minds.

Last visit to the Benito Villamarín
Valencia CF ended last season's LaLiga EA Sports season at the Green and Whites' home ground. That night Valencia CF drew 1-1 with a goal from Diego López. A night on which the fanbase travelled in their troves to get behind the team

Historic stats
The player who has played the most games against Real Betis was Valencia legend and ambassador of the Club, Ricardo Arias. He played 22 times against Betis, with his first match against them in 1978.
Another outstanding player in these matches was Arturo Montesinos, a player who played for the Club from 1919 to 1936. The striker scored 10 goals during his career.
Next match
Valencia CF will play their next LaLiga EA Sports 23-24 match, on matchday 8, this Sunday, 1 October, at 21:00 at the Benito Villamarín (Seville).
