Palop: “It’s time to unite, keep working and move forward”
The former goalkeeper and Valencia CF legend speaks to VCF Media Radio about the current situation of the team
Ahead of a big week for Valencia CF, the first team squad trained on Sunday in preparation for their trip to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Supercopa -the opportunity to win a first trophy of 2020.
With morale at a high after a 1-0 victory over Eibar at Mestalla the previous afternoon, the players were out on the training pitch at the Ciudad Deportiva to train, 24 hours on from the win. The workout involved ballwork and plenty of intensity, as Albert Celades put the team through their paces.
First up for Valencia CF in Jeddah are Real Madrid, who they play in the semifinals of the competition on Wednesday night. They have already met Los Blancos in recent weeks, in an encounter on December 15th that nearly resulted in a VCF victory before a 95th minute Karim Benzema earned Madrid a late draw.
The squad will potentially play two games in the new format of the Supercopa, with a place in the final against the winners of Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona at stake.
