Starting lineup averaging just 23.3 years old
The average age of the Valencia CF starting XI for the game against Real Sociedad was just 23.3, a further illustration of the rejuvenation of the squad for the 2020/21 campaign.
Of the initial eleven players fielded in San Sebastian, only Daniel Wass was over the age of 30 (turning 31 this past May). Goalkeeper Jaume Domenech was the second oldest, with his 30th birthday coming up in November.
The youngest man on the pitch for Javi Gracia's side on the opening whistle was Yunus Musah, the 17-year old talent who made his debut at the start of the campaign and has featured in all four games played to date.
