Meet some of the Valencia CF players who have competed in the U-21 European Championship with Spain
Juan Mata and César Tárrega, the most recent scorers in this prestigious international tournament
Carlos Soler will be in action once again as Valencia CF return to Mestalla on Saturday, participating in the bwin Trofeo Naranja against Internazionale. The VCF Academy product, now a regular fixture in the first team, expressed his excitement about Saturday's game in a Friday media scrum.
"It's been a very busy summer, with the Copa del Rey win and then spending a month with the Spanish Under-21s side, winning the European Championships. I've had three weeks holiday and now I'm back and keen to start the new season. I'm sure it's going to be a good one," he told a gathering of journalists after training.
"I can't wait to go back to Mestalla and see the fans. I haven't been back since the day that we celebrated the Copa del Rey win. Tomorrow is going to be a big test, as Internazionale are a big side. It's going to be useful preparation for next week's LaLiga game. I'm looking forward to playing in front of the fans and having them cheering us on, because it's going to be a long, tough season -but a nice one."
Soler is set to play an important role this season, as the club continue with their commitment to homegrown talent and intelligent signings to create a strong squad.
