Rodrigo: "The goal was one of my most beautiful"

Rodrigo was on the scoresheet once again in Valencia CF's game against Athletic Club, breaking the deadlock in the second half. It was another important goal from the striker, and one of his most aesthetically pleasing of the campaign to date.

Speaking after the game, he described the volley as "One of my most beautiful goals," and said that "We are in our best form of the season. We've got through to the Copa del Rey final and now we have to focus on LaLiga and Thursday's Europa Leauge game. We had a very complete performance today and we deserved the victory."

Reliving the goal -his fifth in LaLiga this season and his ninth in all competitions- he explained that "I wanted to provide an assist, but the ball came off me heavy. Santi Mina gave it back to me well, I hit it cleanly and it was a great goal. I'm very happy about it, but above all I'm happy because it helped us to win the game."

"This season has been inconsistent for every side, except for Barcelona, and we're up there now. We've slipped up, but so have other sides, so we have to keep picking up points and being strong at home."
