🎙️ Rodrigo: "It was a memorable game -for me and for everybody. I'm sure that, in 20 years time, if you ask those who were in the stadium about it then they will remember that game"
Two days before the anniversary of Valencia CF's Copa del Rey triumph from last year, Rodrigo Moreno remembered one of the key moments of that momentous cup campaign. On their way to the final against FC Barcelona, the team met Getafe in the quarter finals, coming back from behind to beat the Madrid-based side 3-1 at Mestalla.
Rodrigo scored all three goals in the game, as Valencia CF recovered from going 0-1 down in the opening minute. His equaliser on 61 minutes was followed by two more goals in stoppage time, to the elation of a packed Mestalla.
"It was a memorable game -for me and for everybody. I'm sure that, in 20 years time, if you ask those who were in the stadium about it then they will remember that game. For us, the players and the coaching staff, it was crazy," he told VCF Media.
"It was a moment of complete madness. Honestly, that third goal was more euphoric than the goal in the final. I went over to throw myself at the people and I half fell. It was being recorded, and it was funny. It was really good."
