Rivero: "If I get the opportunity I will make the most of it"
Cristian Rivero is one of the latest players to be given a spot in the first team squad. The goalkeeper, who came up through the ranks of the VCF Academy, will use the number 25 shirt this season, and is part of the travelling squad who will make the trip to Vigo on Matchday 2. Ahead of the game against Celta Vigo, he chatted to VCF Media.
"I'm very happy to be part of the first team. It's a dream come true for me. I used to watch Valencia CF on the television when I was little, and I've been a Valencianista since I was a child," he explained.

As for the adaptation to lift with the squad, he says that "It's all been very easy. My family also give me advice and help me a lot, just like the people at the club. In these 12 years that I've been at the club, they've helped me grow as a person and as a footballer.
"I've been training with the first team for 5 or 6 years. I used to occasionally come up for a training session, then I began to always train with them. They made it very easy for me, because straight away they integrated me into the group. I've learned a lot from them, and continue to do so. "

Rivero is immediately available for use as coach Javi Gracia sees fit, and wants to contribute in whatever way he can.
"It seemed far away when I was younger, but it was what I wanted and I had to fight for it. I achieved it, but I have many more ambitions. This is only the beginning. I'm here to help the team. If at any time they need my help, then I will give my all. I have complete confidence that if I get the opportunity I will make the most of it."
