Records Blanquinegres: 'El gol de la tarde'

The VCF Heritage and Museum Department -part of the VCF Foundation- and the Heritage and Restoration Institute at the Universidad Politécnica de València, have rescued and restored an historic painting of a moment in Valencia CF history.
'El gol de la tarde,' is a work by Juan Masiá (Requena, 1899-1971), a painter, caricature artist and journalist.
Masià reinterpreted a move from a Copa game played between Valencia CF and Sabadell, played on June 4th, 1944. It ended in a 6-1 win, with goals from Asensi Igoa (x2), Gorostiza, Igoa and Hernández.
Using the photo 'Asensi marca un gol al Sabadell' (Luis Vidal, Levante-EMV) as inspiration, it substitutes the kit used by Sabadell players for that of Atletico Madrid.
