Paulista: "We go home sad, because we should come away with the 3 points"
Gabriel Paulista made a return to first team action ahead of schedule when he played the full 90 minutes against CA Osasuna. He also spoke to VCF Media after the final whistle, providing his opinion of the game.
Disappointment with a draw
"We go home very sad, because we were playing at home and we have to come away with the three points. When we play at home we always have to look for the three points. In the first half we started well, with good intensity both in defence and attack. Sometimes a little experience is lacking, and we had an offside called against us that saw us caught out by a counterattack, when we could have stayed in front of the ball. These are things that we have to learn. We have to forget about the first half of the season, because we did very badly in it. We know that we have to improve, because we are representing the club. We are going to improve."
His return from injury
"I came back earlier than scheduled. I was set to miss 6-8 weeks, but I was back training in 3. I am still feeling some discomfort. I have a vertebra that is broken still, and isn't completely scarred over. I'm going to keep training with the team, and playing, and work with the physios. This doesn't stop and I have to keep going until I'm at 100%. I felt very good, and didn't feel anything that hindered me, so it all went perfectly."
Sunday's game against Atletico Madrid
"There is no other way. We are going to look for a good result against Atletico Madrid. We know that it's going to be a very, very difficult game, but that we can make things tough for them. We are capable of that. Obviously we have few days in which to recover, and to look at what we did today. We are going to look for the three points, which is our obective. We have to rest, and then fight until the final game. We have to get through this."
