Parejo's free kick goal his tenth in LaLiga

Since childhood, Dani Parejo has had an affinity for free kicks. The Valencia CF captain was on target again with a set piece against Atletico Madrid on LaLiga Matchday 9, in his latest display of set piece skill.
The free kick goal was his 10th in the top flight, although he has 2 more in other competitions: Against Osasuna in the Copa del Rey (2012/13) and Villarreal last season in the UEFA Europa League.
The midfielder professes to not having a particular hero that has inspired his free kicks, but has certainly inspired young Valencianistas to put in the work on the training pitch to emulate him. His repertoire includes powerful drives, precise placements and surprise rolls under the defensive wall, like the goal he scored against Leganés in 2017/18.
The ten sides on the receiving end of Parejo free kick goals in LaLiga are Atletico Madrid (2019/20), Deportivo Alavés (2018/19), CD Leganés (2017/18), Real Madrid (2016/17), Athletic Club (2015/16), RC Celta (2015/16), Sevilla FC (2015/16), Getafe CF (2015/16), Rayo Vallecano (2014/15) and RCD Espanyol (2014/15) -the latter with some help from opposition goalkeeper Pau López.
A Parejo strike from a dead ball in the Under-19s European Championships against Greece in 2007 won Spain the competition. His latest earned Valencia CF a valuable point at the Wanda Metropolitano.
