Óscar Fernández: "We had a really solid game, but we lacked effectiveness"
VCF Mestalla kicked off their second phase with a 2-1 away defeat to RCD Espanyol B. Fran Navarro opened the scoring but the home side came back from behind. VCF Mestalla head coach assessed the game with VCF Media:
"We’ve moved phase, but we’re still the same. The boys put a shift in after everything we’ve had and two mistakes from defensive deadball situations cost us all three points. Again the effectiveness in the box. We’re having chances in the opposition box but we’re not taking them at 0-1 we’ve not been able to score the second goal.
We’re lacking effectiveness. Defensive effectiveness to solve our defensive problems and going forward. I can’t say anything else. We had a good performance and we had a good game plan and they beat us with two set-piece situations. That effectiveness is costing us games but we have to keep going”.
