After the publication of false information over recent days in relation to the ownership of Valencia CF and the club’s new stadium, Valencia CF and majority shareholder, Peter Lim, state publicly:
1. Valencia CF is not for sale, and not even part of the shares owned by the majority shareholder are available for purchase. The information published this Saturday by Spanish newspaper El Confidencial is flatly false.
2. Peter Lim is just as committed to Valencia CF as he was on the day that he arrived, as he has recently shown with actions such as the capital increase approved at the last General Shareholders' Meeting.
3. The club wish to dispel false, unfounded rumours with this statement. This false information has been propagated mainly by interested parties and some of their collaborators in the press, who try to destabilise Valencia CF for personal gain.
4. All sectors of Valencia CF -and especially its majority shareholder, Peter Lim-, are fully involved in completing the construction of the new stadium. This is an important project for the club and the city, of which all Valencianistas will be able to feel proud.
5. The new stadium, which the club will soon present in full detail to the fans, has the guarantee of the involvement of a prestigious architect in Mark Fenwick (Fenwick Irribarren Architects), responsible for the construction of three of the eight stadiums that will be used in the World Cup in Qatar. Likewise, the project has the support of the technical managers of LaLiga, as the league’s president, Javier Tebas, publicly stated yesterday.
6. This Friday marked a month since the club delivered the documentation required by the administration to resume work on the new stadium. Valencia CF continue to work to execute this project and hope to meet soon with the relevant authorities to continue moving forward together.
7. On several occasions since the handing over of the required documentation, the club have requested that the Valencian administrations hold a face-to-face presentation of a technical nature, with the aim of explaining the project for the construction of the Nou Mestalla in detail, and to be able to resolve any doubts of a technical, financial, commercial or legal nature that may have arisen in this regard.
8. To date, the club have not received any response from the administration to said request for a meeting, nor have the administrative bodies sent the club any type of formal or informal clarification, doubt or comment regarding the project presented.
9. The total cost of the stadium will be an investment of around 300 million euros, bringing in hundreds of millions of euros to the city of Valencia over the following years. The figures and characteristics of this project alone dismantle any smear campaign regarding it.
10. Valencia CF are working to finish the new stadium project as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the team need us all to stand united ahead of the opportunity to win the Copa del Rey on April 23rd.
