Valencia CF goes eight games unbeaten
A positive run of form marked by the ‘Mestalla factor’ and the team’s great effort and hard work
Mestalla has now a new canvas on ocassion of its Centenary. This Thursday, a mural designed by Amstel was unveiled, measuring 30 meters high and 26 meters wide and inspired by the poster of the first match played at the stadium, on May 20, 1923, between Valencia FC and Levante FC, created by the well-known cartoonist and poster artist Federico Tormo.
Amstel, through the HEINEKEN Spain group, is one of the great brands committed for more than 70 years to the Valencian Community, its traditions and the milestones that mark its history. This commitment translates into support for local culture. From 'l'esmorzaret' or the Fallas, to the hotel and catering industry, which is also a cultural heritage, and of course, to sports, always being at the side of teams with great tradition as is the case of Valencia CF.
The canvas, located in Tower B, captures the aesthetics of the original 1923 poster through the design of the Valencian player who starred in that poster, and is also reflected in the typography, the color range and the style of the illustration. Together with the 1923 player, Amstel has added a player wearing the 2023 kit, a symbol of the past, the present and the great history of the Club and its stadium.
The poster, which features an Amstel bottle in the center, is crowned by the legend '100 anys se celebren amb una cervesa feta a València: 1923 - 2023', while the lower part of the mural shows the Camp de Mestalla as it was drawn in the 1923 poster and the Quart de Poblet brewery where the most deeply rooted beer in the territory is brewed.
