Mestalla pays tribute to former Valencia CF legend Waldo Machado
Waldo Machado didn't deserve any less. Seeing Valencia CF making the Copa del Rey final and having his memory present as Dani Parejo stepped out with his shirt and Waldo's name in the back at Mestalla. Lots of the fans present at Mestalla didn't see him play but everyone speaks wonders of him as a person both in and off the pitch.
It was an emotional farewell as the minute of silence turned into an endless standing ovation moments before cheering his name. That's how the last farewell turned out to be for the former Valencia CF player, the second top goalscorer in the history of the Club, who passed away on Monday at 84 years old.
Waldo scored 115 goals in 215 matches throughout the nine seasons played in First Division and a goal at the Cup Winners Final . He won two fair Cups with Valencia CF's shirt and a Copa del Rey in 1967.
