GAYÀ: “Being the captain of Valencia CF still moves me”
The footballer from Pedreguer features in European Football Clubs to speak about how training and environment shape a player’s career progression
Guille is a goalkeeper for Valencia CF Inclusivo, a team run by the VCF Foundation. Every week he and his nearly 60 teammates train at the Beniferri facilities, motivated to represent Valencia CF.
With perseverance, hard work and a lot of heart, Guille earned a place as a shot stopper for the team. Valencia CF and the VCF Foundation wanted to reward him for his efforts with a surprise on the International Day of People with Disabilities, which is celebrated on December 3rd of each year.
First team goalkeeper Jaume Domènech sent him a video message and a very special gift: A pair of his trusty gloves. As the captain himself says, it is a gesture to emphasise that Valencia CF is a family.
There is a special bond between "El Gato de Almenara" and "El Gato de Gandía," two keepers who symbolise the values of Valencia CF.
