An Under-21 competition organized by the Premier League featuring 32 clubs from the Premier League and various countries across Europe
VCF Mestalla played against Southampton U21 in matchday 3 of the group stage of the Premier League International Cup, a U21 competition organized by the Premier League in which 12 teams from England and other 12 teams from countries such as Spain, Germany, France, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Wales, Croatia or Portugal participate.
The match, played at the Snows Stadium in Totton (Southampton), ended with a 0-2 victory for the B team, which allows VCF Mestalla to maintain their chances of qualifying for the 1/4 finals as the third classified team with the obligation to beat Chelsea FC in the last matchday and wait for other results.
The VCF Mestalla reserve team faced the match with some notable absentees in their lines, but with the ambition to get a victory that had so far eluded them against West Ham (1-0) and Brighton and Hove Albion (3-2).
