The Valencia CF goalkeeper speaks on VCF Media Radio to talk about the match against the Basque side and the signing of Unai Núñez
Valencia CF welcomed Cádiz CF on Sunday the 3rd of April at 6:30 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 30 of LaLiga Santander.
The game saw a quick start at both ends with either side looking to break at every opportunity and exchanging possession in the early goings of the first half at Mestalla.
Valencia CF managed to settle into the game over the quarter-hour mark, but struggled to make inroads going forward despite having enjoyed a wealth of half chances from outside the box.
The first meaningful chance of the game fell to Maximiliano Gómez who rattled the crossbar with a powerful glancing header following an inviting cross from fellow teammate Gonçalo Guedes over the half-hour mark.
Minutes later, Giorgi Mamardashvili produced a superb fingertip save to send the ball over the crossbar and deny former Valencia CF man, Álvaro Negredo in the closing stages of the first half.
The first half finished goalless with nothing to separate the sides at half-time and all to play for in the second half.
The same script followed in the second half with both sides tussling for the ball, but struggling to find a way past the opposition in the first minutes of the second stanza at Mestalla
Maxi Gómez tested Ledesma with a powerful drive which the opposition keeper gobbled up at the second time of asking.
Aforementioned Maxi Gómez came close to pouncing on a Cádiz CF defensive let-off at the back, alas, Ledesma managed to compose himself and gather the ball in the nick of time just under the hour mark on the clock.
Valencia CF were forced into an injury substitution. Denis Cheryshev replaced Bryan Gil on 78 minutes.
Valencia CF kept on pushing for the winning goal from crosses and set-pieces, but the scoreline remained unchanged in a feisty goalless draw at Mestalla.
