Mikel Crespo, new coach of VCF Femenino
The Basque coach brings experience in women's football in Spain, having guided Deportivo Alavés to promotion to the top tier during the 2020-21 season
During the opening stages, VCFF were penning the visitors inside their own half but something had to give and on 13 minutes, Jansen nodded Valencia CF Femenino in front with a great header past Sullastres following an Asun cross from the left-hand side.
Despite the opening goal Deportivo Abanca refused to back down. So much so that Enith was called into action to turn Lady’s effort around the post as the contest evened out in blustery weather conditions which made it difficult for both sides.
Blanco and Sandra further attempts on target from direct free kick situations and on 43 minutes, Jasen came close to doubling VCFF lead with a magnificent chip over Sullastres but the ball whistled over and the referee called for half-time.
José Bargues’side came out in the second half looking to exert further pressure on the opposition as the blustery weather conditions continued through the second half. Sandra had a powerful goal-bound drive from outside the area deflected behind for a corner kick.
Candela doubled Valencia CF Femenino’s lead with a smart finish past Sullastres after latching onto a pin-point Ana Torroda through ball to put Valencia CF two goals to the good over the hour mark in the game.
The visitors tried to half the deficit but Florencia Bonsegundo made it three after cutting inside her marker and lashing home a powerful effort past Ester Sullastres with little over 15 minutes plus stoppage time to go.
Valencia CF Femenino had further chances to increase the lead but the game finished 3-0 for Valencia CF Femenino who put in a convincing performance in their return to winning ways at home.
