Valencia CF played their second preseason match against the Greek side Atromitos FC on Wednesday the 21st of July at 7 pm kick-off time (CET) at the Antonio Puchades at the Ciutat Esportiva (behind closed doors) debuting their second strip.
The first chance fell to Yunus Musah who headed it off target from point-blank range following a Jason Remesseiro floated delivery on the 10 minute mark.
Three minutes later, Manu Vallejo broke the deadlock following a Diego López run in behind the Atromitos FC defence. The youngster picked out Manu Vallejo and delivered a perfect return ball into Manu Vallejo who prodded it home on 12 minutes.
Yunus Musah tried his luck from distance but his effort blazed over the crossbar and a minute later, Jason Remesseiro put Valencia CF two goals to the cutting inside off the right wing arrowing a powerful left-footed drive across the goalkeeper and inside the far post.
Minutes later, Manu Vallejo thought he had grabbed a brace but his goal was disallowed for offside in the build-up. Valencia CF were clearly on top and dominating offensively with a wealth of shots and chances in the final third.
Valencia CF were forced into a substitution though injury Yunus Musah made way for the youngster Adrián Gómez.
The first half finished 2-0 for Valencia CF at the Antonio Puchades.
José Bordalás made a raft of changes at halftime as the second half picked up where it left off. Gonçalo Guedes tried his luck right from the off just seconds in but his effort flew over the crossbar.
The contest evened out as Valencia CF were forced into their second substitution in either half and on the hour mark. Esquerdo was replaced by Jesús Vazquez with Joseda Mengues filling in at right-back.
Substitute Giorgi Mamardashvili, produced a couple of fine saves and a minute later, Valencia CF came close to adding a third but Denis Cheryshev’s point-blank range effort was cleared off the line.
Gonçalo Guedes got off the mark lashing in a strong effort into the top corner following a Denis Cherysev return ball on the left-hand side on 69 minutes.
Fran Pérez came close to adding a fourth after latching onto a Gonçalo Guedes, deft through ball but his effort fizzed just wide of the far post. Valencia CF kept on pushing to widen the margin but the game ended in a comfortable 3-0 win over the Greek side which saw Valencia CF pick up back-to-back preseason wins under José Bordalás.
Valencia CF will host FC Cartagena on Saturday 24th of July at 7 pm kick-off time at the Antonio Puchades for their third preseason test.
