Match Preview: Elche Ilicitano vs VCF Mestalla

VCF Mestalla will visit Elche Ilicitano on Tuesday, October 12th on Hispanic Day in a midweek fixture at Altabix municipal sports centre at 6 pm kick-off time on Matchday 7 of group VI in Tercera RFEF.
Last week’s 5-0 home win over UD Benigànim saw Angulo’s side return to the top of the table and they will try to come away with a win to stay unbeaten away from home after a 1-3 away win away from home and a goalless draw away to Jove Español last time out.
VCF Mestalla head coach, Miguel Ángel Angulo, shared his pre-match thoughts ahead of the midweek clash:
“We’re focused on continuing in the same vein. We’re playing on Tuesday on a plastic pitch of small dimensions. They’re a similar type of opposition to us who are fairly direct with daring and talented players.
We know that it’s going to be a tough game and we have to play it to our strengths to come away with all three points”.
Miguel Ángel Angulo will have further players available after having recently returned from injury in the manner of Diego López, Alessandro Burlamaqui or David Ruiz.
Elche Ilicitano are coming into the game in seventh place on eight points and off the back of a narrow away loss to Jove Español San Vicente by 1-0 scoreline. However, they remain unbeaten at home with two draws to Hércules CF B (1-1) and CD Castellón B (2-2) and a win over CD Olímpic (2-0).
