E. Barrenechea: "We are having a great second half of the season"

VCF Mestalla suffered a harsh 0-4 defeat at The Snows Testwood Stadium in Totton (England) against Wolfsburg, in the team's second game of the Premier League International Cup campaign. Three goals in the opening 35 minutes proved insurmountable for Chema Sanz' side.
Wolfsburg went ahead through a header by Beifus which, despite goalkeeper Emilio getting a hand to the ball, found its way into the net.
The reaction from VCF Mestalla was to move upfield, and Carlos Pérez had a promising chance from outside the box in the 20th minute that went over. Wolfsburg attempted to hit on the counter, including on one occasion an effort that Pascu sent out for a corner.
It was from this corner that Beifus headed in to make it 0-2. The German side swiftly followed up with a third, taking advantage of a defensive mistake to score through Marmoush.
Past the hour mark, Chemo Sanz made a double change to bring on Sergio Moreno and Esquerdo, in an attempt to freshen up the offensive line. However, it would be Wolfsburg who would find the net again, through an Iba May penalty.
Esquerdo and Pablo Jiménez both had multiple chances late on, and Emilio made a save in stoppage time, but VCF Mestalla fell to defeat due to some clinical finishing from their opponents.
