The standout player of the Under-20s World Cup so far, Valencia CF player Kang In put in another superb performance against Ecuador to take Korean Republic to the final of the tournament. He set up J.Choi for the only goal of the game in the semifinal, providing his fourth assist of the competition.
Whilst his trickery on the ball wowed the fans, it was his intelligence in his decision making that proved to be the difference maker. The number 10 played a quick free kick into space down the left channel on 39 minutes, catching out the Ecuadorian defence and allowing J.Choi to slot the ball home.
Kang In was taken off on 72 minutes, replaced by Taejun Park, and watched on as his team held off the attempts at an equaliser late on. The 0-1 triumph means that Korean Republic will play Ukraine on Saturday in the final of the Under-20s World Cup.
