Baraja: "tHE TEAM kePT going AND COMPETED UNTIL THE END"
The Valencia CF coach talks after the 2-2 result against Deportivo Alavés
Valencia CF came close to claiming the three points against Getafe CF, on a night in which Kang In once again showed his enormous potential.
The VCF Academy product got his first LaLiga start in the Matchday 6 game, and had a big impact on the game. Getafe should have been aware of him: He had performed exceptionally in the Copa del Rey quarter final against Los Azulones last season.
Kang In's showing was capped by his first goal in the top flight, as he latched onto the end of a tricky, speedy run and cutback by Rodrigo. Putting the ball into the net with composure, he scored Valencia CF's third goal of the night in the 3-3 draw.
In doing so, he became the club's third youngest LaLiga goalscorer, at 18 years and 218 days. He overtook teammate Ferran Torres, and only Juan Mena and Fernando Gómez Colomer were younger when they opened their respective accounts for the club.
He is also the youngest foreign player to find the net for the club in the top flight, surpassing Mohammed Sissoko.
Kang In played a role in the other two VCF goals, putting a cross into the box that the defence could not clear and Maxi Gómez hooked home, and playing the ball to Dani Parejo when the captain assisted the Uruguayan for his second.
