Jorge López: Villarreal in the Europa League "a tough tie"
Former Valencia CF player Jorge López was the club's representative in Nyon for the UEFA Europa League quarter final draw, and he gave his reactions to the upcoming tie against Villarreal CF.
"It's going to be a tough tie; every opponent was going to be hard at this stage of the competition," he explained. "We're up against Villarreal, a side who are in their best form of the season. It's going to be a difficult tie and we hope to go through to the semifinals."
"I was sitting with the representatives from Villarreal during the draw, and we didn't want to play one another, but that's how it went. We have to face the two games with excitement and get into the next round."
"Not travelling so far this time is an important factor; there are a lot of games in succession coming up, so it's an advantage. We know one another very well from LaLiga and we have to treat it like the derby it is, enjoying it and fighting to go through. I hope we see a repeat of our previous game against them," continued López.
"Being so close, I'm sure that the fans will come out for this one -although they would have done so wherever the quarter final was. First we are going to focus on Villarreal, and then we'll talk about the semifinals."
