Jaume's message to two season ticket holders with COVID-19
Paco Murría and María Magdalena Sales are two Valencia CF fans -season ticket holders since 1994- who have recently fought and overcome COVID-19, after some tough days in which they have been supported by their family and the club.
The couple received a message from Jaume Domènech on behalf of the club last month, boosting their spirits during a difficult time. Whilst María was aysmptomatic, Paco spent 23 days in the emergency unit at Castellón General Hospital, before being moved to another ward and then finally being discharged. With the worst of their battle over, they are looking forward to an eventual return to Mestalla when fans are allowed back into stadiums in Spain.
Their loyalty to Valencia CF stretches back decades, and has seen them attend not just home games, but also matches such as the 2000/01 Champions League final in Milan and the two most recent Copa del Rey final appearances by the club.
"I want to tell you to keep fighting. This will soon be over and you will be back with your family," said Jaume in his message to Paco.
"I also want to thank you for always supporting us as Mestalla, and I know that you were also there for the Copa del Rey final in Seville last year. Thanks to all of the healthcare staff who have looked after you, who I know are doing a very good job. I hope that we can enjoy Mestalla and football again soon, and celebrate your victory."
Paco's recovery process is continuing at home, and his is one of the encouraging stories that COVID-19 can be overcome.
