Jaume Costa's VCF heroes

As a youngster, Jaume Costa grew up at the VCF Academy surrounded by some of his sporting heroes. A part of the Valencia CF youth setup from the age of 8, and a debutant for the first team in his initial spell at the club in the 2008 UEFA Cup, the summer returnee had no shortage of legendary players to watch for inspiration at the Ciudad Deportiva on a daily basis.
One such hero was Kily González, one of the players from the greatest era to date for Valencia CF.
"When you're little, you tend to admire players in the midfield and attack," Costa told VCF Media when revealing his idol from his formative years.
The fullback was attracted by the Argentine's talent and skill on the ball, but identified most with his competitive, daring and brave personality.
Of course, Kily González being left footed also helped with the connection. Costa looked up to the VCF legend, as well as another famous name from the same era: Vicente Rodríguez. He got to know the Spaniard personally later in his career, as the left side of the classic Valencia CF midfield had a long-lasting impression on him.
