Hugo Duro: "We have to check the mistakes, keep improving and get the win against Alavés”

Hugo Duro, the scorer of the Valencianista goal against CA Osasuna (1-2), has spoken to the media to analyze what happened in the match corresponding to Matchday 3 of LaLiga 2023-24 at the conclusion of the game. The Valencia CF striker from Madrid highlighted the team's work and the great support of the fans, who once again turned out en masse at Mestalla.  

Too much punishment

We came out a bit slow and it cost us the goal, although it was just one play. But the second goal was a joke.

A lot of effort

I think that to score points we have to give 200% and this time it took us a little bit more to get into the game. But, once again, the team has shown what it can do. We have to keep working hard. There is no other way.

Fouls prior to the second goal

In the action prior to the goal there were two fouls. One to me and another to José (Gayà) that I didn't see, but that moved the fence three meters. He didn't see those.

Another goal

It's very important because of all the work behind it, not only mine, but also that of the coaching staff who work with me and give me that confidence that I try to put on the pitch. Finally, I've taken a big weight off my shoulders. Let's hope it gets better.

We put up a good performance, but we lost. I like to win. I would prefer to play badly and win every time. But that's the way it is. There is nothing bad we can say to the team. The work has been incredible. The second half was spectacular. But, we have to check the mistakes, keep improving and get the win against Alavés.
