How Mangala got back to full strength for Valencia CF return
Eliaquim Mangala has switched up his fitness training in recent months, as part of his constant quest to be in peak physical shape at all times.
Regarded as one of the fastest, most imposing defenders in LaLiga during his first spell at Valencia CF, the Frenchman has since come back from a serious knee injury and is at full strength agai, in anticipation of his 'second debut' for the club.

One of the secrets to his successful return to top shape has been work undertaken during a month in Miami, USA, this summer, with specialist trainer Seth Minter. The fitness expert has collaborated with top level athletes such as NFL players Antonio Brown, Sammy Watkins and Jordan Reed, and NBA greats Dwight Howard, Steph Curry and Draymond Green. Known as 'The Foot Doctor', Minter was put in touch with Mangala via social media and set about devising a special routine for the player.
The integral training philosophy has not just enabled a complete recovery from the knee injury which halted his career for almost an entire season, but rather has provided additional functional strength for Mangala that will help him avoid future injuries.
Mangala said after his presentation for Valencia CF that he feels like he is 18 years old again, and hopes to play another 10 years at the highest level. His dedication to his fitness makes that a distinct possibility.
