Baraja: "tHE TEAM kePT going AND COMPETED UNTIL THE END"
The Valencia CF coach talks after the 2-2 result against Deportivo Alavés
Hugo Guillamón spoke to VCF Media after the 1-0 defeat against FC Barcelona. The Spain international gave his view of a controversial move in the final minutes.
A possible penalty
It's a shame about that move. It was dubious. In person, it seemed to me that the referee was going to give a penalty. They told me there was contact. I don't understand how it wasn't given if the referee himself told us that there was contact. That's what VAR is there for and you don't have to think about it anymore.
Competing against the LaLiga leaders
The objective was to be in the game for 90 minutes. It was a shame that we conceded so early, but the team stood up to be counted. We have to compete every weekend and it's a pity that we leave here empty handed.
Hard work
The way to go is the path of hard work. We've been through a bad run that has hindered us, but the team are eager to turn it around.
Being strong at Mestalla
The unity between fans and players is key. It has been something that we've seen all season at home. I want to thank the fans who came here to support us today.
