Corberán: “The demands will be at the highest level”
The Valencia CF coach previews the game against RCD Espanyol
Goncalo Guedes put in a stunning performance for Valencia CF in the game against Osasuna, making a big impact in the first half and scoring a candidate for goal of the season.
The Portuguese was brought back into the starting lineup by Albert Celades, after he began on the bench against Real Madrid. Looking fresh and as motivated as ever, he took just 12 minutes to hand Valencia CF the lead.
After collecting a clearance from Jaume Costa, Guedes sprinted across the halfway line, regained his footing after a stumble, danced past four players, broke into the box and blasted a shot into the net.
It was a moment to remember, but it was not to be his final contribution in the opening stanza; Guedes also set up Rodrigo for Valencia CF’s second goal of the game, 10 minutes before the referee blew for half time.
The game will be remembered for Guedes’ goal. It was his first of the season in LaLiga, but well worth the wait.
