Gonçalo Guedes rounded off his season in style with a trademark spectacular goal for Portugal against the Netherlands, in the final of the new UEFA Nations League tournament. The Valencia CF player featured in the starting lineup, playing on the left in a free role, and on the hour mark found the net with the only goal of the game.

The strike saw him receive the ball from teammate Bernardo Silva, run through the central channel and release a powerful drive with his right foot from outside the box. The ball would make contact with opposition Jesper Cillessen, but the Dutch stopper was powerless to keep the shot out.

Coach Fernando Santos substituted Guedes off in the 74th minute, to a great ovation from the fans at Porto's O Dragao stadium in his homeland -the venue for the final. Portugal would hold on to win the final 1-0, with Guedes' goal proving decisive in the trophy triumph.
