Giner: "Voro has shown that he can turn a difficult situation around"
VCF Footballers Association president and former Valencia CF player, Fernando Giner, called in to VCF Media Radio on Tuesday to talk about the appointment of Voro as caretaker coach through to the end of the season.
"Fortunately, Voro has shown on many occasions that he is capable of taking over a team who are in a delicate situation and turn things around in little time. We are confident that Voro is able to do the job," says Giner of the appointment, following the dismissal of Javi Gracia on Monday.
"We hope that this is the case. Nobody wanted things to get to this situation. It's something to reflect on. All of us within the club have to do that, whatever our ties to Valencia CF, so that the situation isn't repeated and so that the team get through this without any kind of problem in the coming seasons."

The VCF legend also expressed that responsibility for getting the team safely through to the end of the season does not fall solely at the feet of the new incumbent in the dugout.
"Every time that Voro has been asked to take over the team, he has done so in the most professional way possible and the best way that he can. We are clear that the successes that he has can be positive for the team and Valencia CF," offered Giner.
"He is taking a risk, because football is very capricious, but he's always been able to deal with it. He knows the players perfectly, and they know him. It's very important that the players know the work that is required of Voro right now, and that he should be respected -as he always has been on previous occasions. They should know that it's not just down to Voro to get the results -it is down to them as well. They are the ones who have to go out onto the pitch and turn the situation around."
"The most important thing is that the team feel that they are supported. The fans have their reasons to be displeased, but they are behind the team."
"Voro is going to achieve that mentality that the players need. He's going to make a positive influence so that on Sunday, against Valladolid, Valencia CF are who we need to be: A team who have to make a difference, against a side who are in the same delicate circumstances, and beat them. The position we are in is not befitting of the squad that Valencia CF have."
